The Internet cafe's here are reasonably plentiful and very inexpensive (typically
about 83 cents NZ per hour) but the time seems to flash by while using them,
and I've only been sending emails to a few people with very easy to remember
addresses. My webmail doesn't have an address book in it which is really dumb,
but I wrote a long list that I have in my bag somewhere.
Unfortunately, since I've arrived in Romania I seem to have been very busy
and haven't managed to take advantage of the cheap internet cafes. Recently
I've been laying a cobblestone path at a home for former streetgirls. You
wouldn't believe how wonderful the girls are [now] when you hear their stories
(from reliable sources, too).
Go to Mana Ministries
to read about the organisation I'm working for at the moment in Timisoara
and the problems they face.
From a reader: Things here are rainy and cold and so I'm guessing that
the painting we wanted to do before winter is now going to be done on a
fine day in winter (if one ever comes about). What's the weather like where
you are? Are they doing the opposite from us ie. just going into summer?
Hopefully you're not freezing your butt off.
Ummm... in a word, no. It was 29 deg C at 6:30pm the other day. Amazing weather
with low humidity, I spent the whole day in the sun starting the path on Tuesday
and was just a little pink skinned at the end of it. (Which means maybe I'll
get a tan here.) I'm drinking lots of pineapple juice.
Love and God bless,
Ian
