Question from a reader: Do you need a further supply of balloons yet? Do let me know when you do, and also of course, a good postal address to send them to!

Funny about that. The people I'm staying with in Timisoara (while I'm there, that is) love the balloons, as do the street kids. I've finished the first bag. My hosts want to start a side industry clowning with animal balloons. The Aussie couple who were with me from Ramnicu Valcea to Timisoara continued up to Arad where they met a professional clown from the States who met us when he came down to Timisoara (with me still?) and gave us good contacts for getting the balloons and all sorts of other things off the Internet. And various other useful resources/contacts. He can also blow up balloons without a pump (by mouth) so I'm not the only one in Romania after all. He'll also be giving a clown seminar in Timisoara at the end of this month which we'll all be going to. My hosts are also getting a couple of packs sent from friends/family in NZ.

I'm back in Ramnicu Valcea to meet the female volunteers to head off to Bran and Brasov for the weekend. Bran was home to Count Vlad Tempes (Vlad the Impaler). Brasov has a 53 key organ with 4000 pipes, but I don't know if we'll have time to visit it.
